Spit Valving for 6 years

AO: Big Creek

When: 2025-01-15

QIC: Spit Valve

PAX (10): DirtyMO, Hail Mary, Ma Bell, Napalm, Relient, Simple Jack, Snowman, Swiper, Whiz

Preamble:

Celebrating 6 years of Spit Valve, back where it all began at Big Creek.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey back to pick up the late arriving Hail Mary and then circle up for the following:
  • SSH
  • Willy Mayes Hayes
  • Week Pickers
Followed by 6 burpees OYO. All PAX were now warm and ready to begin the festivities.

The Thang:

We started our fun by touring 6 pavilions throughout the park. We completed 20 merkins of different flavors at each stop in the following order... inclined, narrow, staggered, explosive, asymmetric, merkin. We had completed well over 1 mile and 120 merkins by the time this part of the thang wrapped. Thang 2 was a round of 6 "corners" on the turf field. I remember The Body leading us in 4 corners during my first BD 6 years ago, and this was a nod to that. Each station required 20 of the following, with a stop back at midfield for a 6 burpee deposit:
  • Squats
  • Jump squats
  • Star jumps
  • Lunges
  • Bonnie Blair's
  • Calf raises
Once all PAX were done, we had enough time for some bat wings before doing an Indian run back to the flag.

COT:

Swiper and Snowman gave an overview of what was discussed on the F3 nation call yesterday. Prayers were raised up for children of all ages... specifically in Simple Jack, Durty Nelly and Swiper's lives. Prayers for work situations and unspoken prayers as well.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

In closing, I offered up 3 nuggets:
  1. Nobody noticed during the BD, but the merkin tour contained a nod to our brother Inseam (notice the first letter of inclined, narrow, staggered, explosive, asymmetric, merkin). Inseam and I started F3 one week apart 6 years ago, and even though he couldn't lead us for his own anniversary BD this year, we were still celebrating with him today.
  2. Don't forget your M is the most important part of your life. This may mean you need to miss coffeteeria or make other concessions, but that is ok.
  3. I encouraged everyone not to be afraid of being vulnerable and to share things with your fellow brothers. For me this played out over the past year during decisions around my career transition, and I thank everyone that supported me through that.
